DISTINCTIVE LIFESTYLE......

The choices we make shape the story of our lives. Choose with care.

Fear has the power to paralyze us, keeping us from fully living the life we’re meant to embrace. Life is a constant evolution—both for us as individuals and for the world around us. The events unfolding globally today often bring uncertainty, unrest, fear, and even anger. At times, we find ourselves in situations where control has been taken out of our hands, leaving us feeling powerless.

The question then becomes: what steps can we take to persevere during these challenging times? How can we rise above fear and uncertainty to find strength and purpose?

We have three choices in the face of challenges: (1) Let them define you, (2) Let them destroy you, or (3) Let them strengthen you. It’s a choice—and the decision is yours. Personally, I choose strength.

For me, that means refraining from texting or posting on social media, holding back words that don’t serve a purpose, and being mindful of my physical reactions. Instead, I choose to send out love—much like the Hippies of the '60s embraced the mantra “make love, not war.” I wasn’t a Hippie back then, but what a powerful idea: peace over conflict.

After all, wars often begin with harsh words—words aimed at our brothers, sisters, family members, and friends. Fear and deception, not truth, often drive those choices. But we can choose differently. We can choose love.

Choices come with consequences. Whether you believe in karma or a higher power, those who harm others to gain power through selfish means will eventually face the results of their actions. Here’s how I choose to see it: for my own peace of mind, I hold on to hope.

I hope that, in the years ahead, humanity will experience an awakening—an enlightenment that reveals the harm caused by malice and division during these times. To nurture this hope, I look inward and cultivate calmness and kindness. I strive to extend understanding and compassion to those who think differently than I do, who look or speak differently, who worship in their own unique way, or whose skin is a different color. In embracing this mindset, I find peace.

As we stand at the threshold of pivotal events in our world, we are faced with choices—choices for ourselves, for our children, and for all those we hold dear. Let us choose to lead by example, embodying kindness, love, understanding, peace, and calm.

Make your life and your home a sanctuary of hope, a place that radiates the promise of a brighter future and a better tomorrow for everyone. Together, let us be the examples the world needs, showing that through our actions, we can help create a better, more compassionate world for all.

Living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, I’ve discovered my sanctuary—a place where I’ve found the strength to embrace my true self and strive to be better. Here, I feel inspired to grow into a more thoughtful and worthy human being. Perfection isn’t the goal; rather, it’s about making progress, living with intention, and becoming a kinder, more mindful person through my actions. And I wish to spread this to the world.

Adios until next time from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Linda
