In May 2023, I embarked on a new path that led me to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This journey began after a breakup, a turning point that brought me here. At the time, I questioned whether this decision was brave or foolish, as I shared my uncertainty with family and friends. In hindsight, it was undeniably a brave move.
This past year has been a transformative journey—one of healing and deep self-discovery. Looking back, I realize it was the most important decision I’ve ever made, shaping me in ways I never anticipated.
When I moved to San Miguel de Allende, I didn’t know a single soul—it was truly a leap of faith. You could say that God and the Universe guided me here. My journey began with healing, and I stayed committed to that path.
It was a slow and gradual process for me to emerge into the community. I started by connecting with people through local Facebook groups and meeting my neighbors. Over time, I began stepping out and exploring more.
What makes San Miguel so magical are the countless activities available, many of which are affordable or free to join. There’s something for everyone—art, music, the richness of Mexican culture, the warmth of the people, the stunning architecture, and, if you’re a foodie, the incredible cuisine. This city has so much to offer, and it’s a place where you can truly immerse yourself in whatever inspires you.
So sometimes it is a good thing to take a leap of Faith. To be brave enough to just go for it. So take a look at your options as they may be better than you think. Never stop dreaming or being a dreamer.
